DK returns to Whisker Woods Elementary convinced that first grade should feel easier. He knows the hallways now. His three closest friends—Luna, Max, and Zoe—are beside him. Even the Brave Kitty bandana around his neck seems to say that he has already proved he can handle school. But the moment Ms. Tigger begins describing the year ahead, DK realizes that being familiar with the building is not the same as being ready for everything inside it.
